Road safety is a common social topic around the globe. Drivers enjoy the convenience and pleasure from driving, but at the same time it could bring grief or even unbearable loss that can never be obliterated.
Over the past few years, there is a rapid economic growth in China and a continuous increase in national productivity and income. In terms of road transport-related activities, there is an increase in both passenger and freight traffic from year 2003 to 2007. The total length of highways has increased by 2.4 million kilometers; highway passenger traffic has increased by 596,345, (reached 20 billion passengers); road freight has increased by 16 billion tons, (reached 16.39432 billion tons). Unfortunately, in 2007 a total of 327,209 traffic accidents have occurred, causing 380,442 people injury and 81,649 deaths. This is equivalent to a total loss of RMB 1.19878 billion. This fully demonstrated that in order to benefit from the growth of economic environment, we also have to pay for a heavy cost, and some of these heartbreaking accidents? This cannot be reversed.
